Longtime AAWGA member, Virginia Lyle, Dies at 88

Virginia E Lyle, age 88, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Arbor Hospice Residence. Virginia was born on November 16, 1920 in Detroit, MI. She married William C. Lyle on October 1, 1947 in Detroit and he preceded her in death.

Virginia was very active all her life. She enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler. Virginia had many friendships with others that she enjoyed through these activities. She was a member of the University Women’s Golf Association and the Ann Arbor Golf Association.

Virginia is survived by her three children, William C. Lyle, Robert (Joyce) Lyle and Christine Mosier, four grandchildren, William (Siobhan) Lyle III, Mark (Christine) Lyle, Kristy Lyle and Kevin Lyle, three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Connor and Morgan, her loving brother, Donald Lund and one niece, Susan (Bruce) Allison.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor, 120 S. State St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
